International Women's Day Events

UW-Whitewater Women's Issues Committee to Recognize Faculty, Staff and Student Leaders 

On Wednesday, March 8th the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater will be hosting several events in celebration of International Women's Day at the Fern Young Terrace in the Center for the Arts. At 4pm the Women's Issue Committee will recognize 17 UW-Whitewater faculty, staff and students for their outstanding leadership on campus and in the community. Following the ceremony and reception, at 5:30pm keynote speaker, Deesha Dyer will be giving a lecture titled, "Diversity in the Workplace: Creating Intentional Opportunities for People of Color". Ms. Dyer, a Philadelphia native and former Hip-Hop Journalist, served as the Social Secretary for the Obama Administration from 2015-2017 and is now actively involved in community advocacy by working with groups such as the Youth Health Empowerment Project, CARE advocacy, Action AIDS and
