University Staff Council
About Us
The University Staff Council (USC) is a shared governance group officially recognized by UW-Whitewater to be an active participant in institutional governance, including the immediate decision-making and policy development at UW-Whitewater. This is in accordance with Universities of Wisconsin Regent Policy Document 20-20, which extends the rights provided to other groups in Wis. Stat. Chapter 36.
The USC focuses on the formulation, review, and representation in the development of, all policies and procedures concerning University Staff members, including University Staff personnel matters.
The USC may make recommendations, consider proposals, and raise concerns to institutional leadership. This includes identifying representatives for campus committees and bringing issues from the University Staff’s perspective to the forefront for broader consideration.
News and Announcements
The USC has launched an online suggestion box. Feel free to drop us a note, either anonymously, or with your name on it if you would like a response.
The Administrative Transformation Program (ATP) with the implementation of the Work Day software has caused a change in how vacation is allocated for University Staff from calendar year to fiscal year (July-June). Please see the interim policies on Personal/Legal Holiday and Vacation for how this transition will happen in the first half of 2025.
