Andrew Baldwin

Chicago-based percussionist Andrew Baldwin is at home playing music both within and outside of the western classical tradition, with focus on Afro-Cuban (congas) and Brazilian (Maracatu, Reggae, Pagode, and Rio) drumming, as well as developing a unique voice with his jazz playing and composing.  He has performed at Carnegie Hall with the UW Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Beijing and Shenyang, China with the UW Madison Percussion Ensemble.  Andrew is a Black Swamp Percussion Concert Artist, graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison (masters) and UW-Whitewater (bachelors), and can be heard playing auxiliary percussion and vibraphone on the soundtrack for the films “Brawl in Cell Block 99” and “Dragged Across Concrete”.
