Michael Allsen

Dr. Michael Allsen is Professor Emeritus of music at UW Whitewater, where he taught music, history, world music, and interdisciplinary arts until his retirement in 2018. He was a member of the trombone section of the Madison Symphony Orchestra from 1983-2018, was the orchestra’s bass trombonist for 29 seasons. Allsen is codirector of the Glenwood Moravian Trombone Choir, a group that celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2023. He has been the conductor of the adult choir at UW Trombone Day since the event began.
