Nengher N. Vang published an essay in this collected volume or anthology of essays on the Vietnam War.  Beyond the Quagmire, published by the University of North Texas Press, came out in March 2019.  Vang’s essay assesses the long-term legacies of America’s secret war in Laos, demonstrating that wars often do not end when peace agreements are signed.

Nengher N. Vang co-edited with Chia Youyee Vang (UW-Milwaukee) and Yang Sao Xiong (UW-Madison) a special issue on Hmong American and Diaspora Studies in Amerasia Journal in late 2018.  In this issue, Vang has two essays.  One, which he wrote with his co-editors, focuses on the state and future direction of Hmong American and Diaspora studies while the other is the transnational or homeland politics of Hmong Americans.
