Dr. Winden’s major research field lies broadly in the area of environmental and natural resource economics.  Specific areas of interest involve improving environmental valuation techniques and utilizing value estimates to inform local, state, and national policy outcomes.  His other work involves survey design, as well as discrete choice modeling and conjoint choice experiments, for preference elicitation.
