ATTENTION:

The School of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks an Assistant Dean (Assistant Dean (B), AE125).

This is an internal posting for current UW-Whitewater employees. JOB DETAILS:

The Assistant Dean is a 12-month, full-time appointment and reports to the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education. This position should expect be in the office 5 days a week with occasional remote flexibility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited university
  • Supervisory experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of shared governance and university mission

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a Director, Department Chair, Assistant or Associate Dean, Dean or other equivalent with significant management or administrative experience
  • A record of administrative leadership experience that demonstrates a commitment to collaborative leadership and responsible management that fosters trust, respect and successful working relationships with students, faculty, staff and administrators
  • A record of transparent and effective fiscal management
  • Experience leading marketing efforts
  • Experience with graduate student recruitment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to interact respectfully with people with diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
  • Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide leadership for the graduate student application and recruitment processes, including continuous improvement
  • Provide administrative leadership to the unit's use of Slate CRM for graduate admissions processing, recruiting, and other administrative tasks.
  • Reviewing course and fee proofs each term with the Registrar's Office
  • Providing administrative oversight to summer and winter sessions (marketing, course approval, financial considerations)
  • Overseeing the Department of Workforce Development's Eligible Training Program List (ETPL) data reporting
  • Providing administrative leadership to dual enrollment programming
  • Collaborating with faculty and staff on promotion of dual and concurrent enrollment initiatives and K-12 district cohorts for graduate programs
  • Maintaining financial monitoring of service-based pricing and extension programs
  • Providing leadership to expanding university outreach efforts
  • Supervising direct reports and staff
  • Other duties as assigned

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Well-qualified candidates can expect a 12-month annual salary of $100,000.
