ATTENTION:
The Department of Continuing Education at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks an Outreach Events Coordinator (Outreach Specialist, OE009).
JOB DETAILS:
Join the Camps and Conferences team in successfully hosting over 10,000 youth annually through camps, conferences, events and lessons.
The Outreach Events Coordinator provides guidance for program planning, implementation, and evaluation, and event planning services. This position monitors all steps in the event planning process. The selected candidate will promote stable and productive relationships between the university and community. The Outreach Events Coordinator strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences. This position reports to the Camps and Conferences Director in Continuing Education.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree

- Experience with customer service
- Experience working with youth and/or camps
- Experience with ordering and procurement
- Experience working with event registration systems
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspaces
- Experience working in a higher education environment
- Experience working with data management systems
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to interact respectfully with people with diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background
- Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and executes all steps in the event planning process to include but not limited to placing orders with catering, reserving rooms/facilities, and corresponding with directors to ensure a smooth camp experience
- Supervises the implementation of outreach-program-focused strategic planning initiatives and objectives
- Develops and implements operating policies and procedures to promote the outreach program in alignment with the strategic plan
- Reviews recommendations for and provides input on the design and development of new outreach programs or services
- Determines outreach program needs and the personnel resource allocation plan based upon requests from camp and conference directors
- Collaborate with other Continuing Education Services staff to manage event registration system information and answer registrant questions
- Be available nights and weekends, especially during the summer, to support camps operations

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting annual salary within a range of $45,000-$47,000.

CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT:
University of Wisconsin-Whitewater does not offer H-1B or other work authorization visa sponsorship for this position.
