Nicholas Abler - Music
Hello! I'm Nicholas Abler, a senior here at UWW. My major is in instrumental music education, with a minor in secondary mathematics education. I'm fascinated by the ways in which music is put together and by the ways that theorists use to describe it. What is it that makes music sound good? What techniques have composers developed to evoke strong emotional responses from an audience? How can we bridge the gap between the sounds we hear and the theories around effective tonal music? These are the questions that music theory and aural skills strive to answer. Outside of tutoring services, I am actively involved in the music department as a trombone player for the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the Whitewater Symphony Orchestra. My area of expertise is in Music Theory and Aural Skills, but I can also offer supplementary instruction for Class Piano. I'm very excited to be joining the tutoring community this year! If you need another perspective or some extra practice from theory and aural skills, please feel free to get in touch! I look forward to meeting you!
