Next Steps: Reserve Your Spot at UW-Whitewater!

Congratulations #FutureWarhawk! We are excited that you are ready to join the Warhawk family. To reserve your spot and set yourself up for a successful year, just follow the steps below:

Set up your UW-Whitewater Credentials

Now that you are a #FutureWarhawk, it is time to establish your log-in credentials. You'll use this username and password to log in to all university systems, including your WINS account and your email. Your campus email is the main way we will be contacting you from now on. Check it regularly so you do not miss out on important campus information and reminders.

Follow these steps to establish your log-in credentials:

  1. Visit and click on the log-in button on the left side of your screen.

  2. The next page will require a username and password. Your username is your Net-ID, and your password is your seven-digit ID number (both your Net-ID and seven-digit ID number can be found on your admission letter).

  3. You will then be prompted to change your password.

  4. Once your password is changed, you can access all university accounts using your Net-ID and new password.

Start your housing contract

Your housing contract is available starting Oct. 1, 2019. Due to the high demand for on-campus housing, we recommend you submit your signed housing contract along with the $125 housing deposit as soon as possible. You will have the opportunity to select a Learning Community and be matched with a roommate at a later date. Visit to begin, and note that you will use your seven-digit ID number as both your username and password when accessing the housing contract.

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The FAFSA is available at starting Oct. 1, 2019. The priority deadline for submission is Jan. 1, 2020. If you completed the FAFSA and submitted all your required materials by Jan. 1, your award letter will be sent beginning Feb. 1.

Register for placement testing

The Math Placement Test (MPT) is required of all new students without previous college-level coursework.

  • Take your MPT at least two weeks prior to attending Warhawks SOAR.
  • You will not be able to register for math courses or any course with a math prerequisite until you have taken the MPT.
  • You may select your Warhawks SOAR date without having the test complete.
  • If you have previous foreign language coursework (Spanish, German or French), we recommend you also take the appropriate placement test(s) at this time.
  • You will be placed in English courses based on your ACT English sub-score/SAT Reading Test sub-score or previous college-level coursework.

Registration for the University of Wisconsin System placement testing begins Feb. 1, 2020 at For more information or questions, click here or contact the Testing Office at 262-472-5613.
