2022-2023 Academic Staff Promotions Ad Hoc Committee Roster

The purpose of this committee is to solicit candidates for election to the Academic Staff Assembly, to conduct elections of academic staff members to the Academic Staff Assembly, to tabulate and report the results of elections to all academic staff and appropriate campus and off-campus persons.

Elections to the Academic Staff Assembly are held the spring of each year. Representatives are elected for two-year terms. Academic Staff Assembly members and Academic Staff may vote electronically using a Qualtrics Survey. The link to the electronic ballot will be sent via email to all academic staff.
Only academic staff are eligible to vote in Assembly elections.
The general Elections and Balloting timeline is as follows:
- Early March: Notice of Election and Application/Nomination Form emailed to all eligible academic staff.
- Late March: Nominations submitted to the Academic Staff Assembly Chair.
- Early April: Electronic ballot link emailed to all academic staff.
- Mid-April: Electronic ballot deadline.
- Late April: Ballots tallied and election results reported to/ratified by the Academic Staff Assembly.
- End of April/Early May: Nominees notified of election results.
- First May meeting: Newly elected Assembly members participate in first meeting.
Questions concerning nomination and election activities should be directed to the Academic Staff Assembly Chair.
The purpose of this committee is to regularly review by-laws, personnel rules, constitution, and any other governing documents of the Academic Staff Assembly, and to identify, draft, and propose to the general assembly any changes or amendments as applicable and outlined within each document.

The purpose of this committee is to structure and administer orientation for academic staff. The committee also facilitates academic staff participation in shared governance and the University committees, and is responsible for other outreach functions.

The purpose of this committee is to solicit proposals by academic staff members for funding of professional development activities; to establish the criteria by which proposals will be evaluated; to conduct the evaluations of proposals; and to make recommendations to the Academic Staff Assembly for transmittal to the Chancellor and Provost. This committee is only designated as "Active" when funding is available.
Membership: 5 academic staff members, at least 2 of whom are instructional academic staff
2023-2024 Professional Development Committee Roster
Inactive: No Professional Development funds have been identified for the 2023-2024 academic year. Committee roster will be updated upon notification of ASA by the Chancellor or Provost that funds have been committed.
The purpose of this committee is to structure and administer the promotion process for academic staff. The committee receives and reviews candidates' applications for promotion. Its rankings and recommendations are forwarded to the Academic Staff Assembly, which then forwards the final recommendations for promotion to the Chancellor.
Membership: 6 instructional academic staff members, including a chairperson serving as tabulator and 5 committee members serving as voting members

The purpose of this committee is to structure and administer the program for non-instructional academic staff; to develop reward criteria, prepare training and promotion of the program for academic staff and supervisors, receive and review applications and proposals for reward/recognition. Rankings and recommendations are forwarded to the Academic Staff Assembly, which then forwards the final recommendation for reward and recognition to the Chancellor.
