Keynote Speaker
Dawn Fiedler
Issues in Human Trafficking
Daw Fiedler’s passion is threefold: for her husband and family, her relationship with God and for Join the Movement Events, Inc. (JTME), where she educates our local communities, on what human trafficking is and how to protect their neighborhoods and most especially our youth. Dawn became aware of this great need for Wisconsin at her Rotary District conference several years ago. Since then, Dawn has been attending training with the FBI, DOJ, ICAC, WCASA, SAVAS, Children’s Hospital, Amber Alert, NCJCT, End the Game, and Truckers Against Trafficking and local organizations. In 2017, JTM’s mission was to organize large group awareness events in local communities to educate our youth, parents/guardians, and community members.

Creative Interventions with Children and Adolescents
Forming a safe and authentic therapeutic bond is essential for clients to engage in meaningful change and psycho-emotional growth. One could argue the importance of a genuine connection between therapist and client may be highest when working with children and adolescents. This presentation aims to inform attendees of practical and useful language, techniques, and approaches to facilitate that connection. We will discuss how to identify and address ways to maintain composure, how to connect consistently and how to provide a safe, positive setting for session work with younger clients. Learning how to utilize the "therapist as self" in practical and meaningful ways with children and adolescents will be explained in depth. The presentation also includes information on how therapists can help younger clients in the following areas: emotional regulation, connection with peers, reduction in anxiety and negative thought cycles and improved self-perception.

Assisting individuals when sexting/sextortion is a threat and the role of education as a key to prevention.
