Glen Pounder
As Scouting America’s Chief Safeguarding Officer, Glen Pounder plays a pivotal role in leading the assessment and oversight of all youth safeguarding activities nationwide. His responsibilities include policy formulation, training, liaison with the National Executive Board, strategic planning, external partnerships, legislation, and engagement with the survivor community. During his tenure as the COO of the Child Rescue Coalition, Glen Pounder helped the organization to a highly successful 4-year period. He effectively utilized the organization’s technology to build capacity and apprehend pedophiles, making a substantial impact in multiple countries. His role was crucial in developing new technology to address the rising threats of encrypted online spaces and live streaming abuse. Over a distinguished 30-year career, Glen Pounder has left an indelible mark on the global fight against child sexual abuse and serious crimes. His international experience, including a 6-year tenure in Portugal as the UK’s Law Enforcement liaison, is a testament to his wide-ranging experience. He was a key figure in establishing a multi-national counter-drugs task force (MAOC-N), showcasing the breadth and depth of his contributions. In 2022, Glen Pounder reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to combating child exploitation by becoming a founding board member of Raven, a pioneering advocacy group focusing on resources and funding for law enforcement. Glen is fluent in Portuguese and gained a Master’s in Internet Law and Policy from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland.
