Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
Rates
$5 an hour for children of students
$8 an hour for children of faculty, staff and community
*Two Hour Minimum
Subsidized care
Thanks to a federal grant, full-time (12 credits or more) undergraduate Pell grant students with a GPA of 2.00 or more may receive 50-70% off the cost of care! To find out if you qualify, fill out the survey.

Welcome to the Children’s Center Drop-in site! We are so glad you’re here! Please read all the information before using the link above to make your child’s reservation
- The UW-Whitewater Children’s Center Drop-in site requires all families to fill out an enrollment survey.
- Two-week advance notice is recommended for reservations.
- Priority is given first to student families, then faculty and staff, and lastly community families.
- Please make sure all enrollment forms are completed prior to your child(ren)’s attendance in the classroom.
- Please review our list of items to bring with your child. Also, check out our classroom schedule for a rough outline of what your child will be doing during the day while they come to play at the UW-Whitewater Children’s Center Drop-In Site.
- Paperwork. You can find these forms on our website. We cannot provide care if the forms are not filled out and turned into the office. This is a State of Wisconsin Child Care Licensing requirement.
- Breastmilk, formula, and baby food of your child’s preference. Please supply all infant food/bottles your child will need for the time they are here. We are required to feed children every 3 hours.
OR
- Lunch. If your child will be in the classroom between 11:30-12:30 please provide a cold lunch. We provide a morning and afternoon snack that is served family style with all your child’s new friends.
- Diapers, wipes, and diaper cream. We are required to change children every two hours, upon waking from a nap, and when the diaper is soiled. Please provide enough diapers for your child’s time with us. If your child uses diaper cream, please write your child’s name on the bottle. *Cloth diapers are welcome, please bring a wet bag to hold used diapers.
- Extra pair of clothes in case clothes become dirty.
- If students are in our care for more than 4 hours and are under the age of 5, we are required by Licensing to provide a nap or rest time period (of at least 30 minutes). If your child will be napping in our care, we will provide a sheet for them to sleep on. If your child needs a sleep sack, pacifier, blanket or lovey please be sure to provide those materials.
- We go outside every day, weather permitting. Please bring appropriate clothes for child to be comfortable outside. Warmer months: sunscreen and sun hats. Cooler months: Jackets and rainboots. Cold months: snowpants, winter jacket, hat, waterproof gloves, snow boots. Children 2 and older will go outside if it feels like 0 or above. Children under 2 will go outside if it feels like 20° or above. The Children’s Center follows the Child Care Weather Watch to determine when we should limit our time outside.
