 The University of Wisconsin - Whitewater seeks an Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enrollment and Retention.

 

 JOB DETAILS:

 

This position provides strategic leadership for university enrollment and retention efforts under the direction of the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.  The Assistant Vice Chancellor provides direct leadership for the following offices: Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, Academic Advising & Exploration Center, Campus Tutorial Services & Testing Center, and First Year Experience.

This leadership role includes working collaboratively to: develop and implement recruitment and selection strategies; manage budget and initiatives intended to increase enrollment; implement strategies and interventions to increase retention and graduation rates of students and support student success.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, Student Personnel Services, Educational Administration, or a related field.
  • Eight years of progressive leadership in enrollment and retention services
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading multiple employees.

  • Work collaboratively with students, staff, co-workers, faculty, and the public.
  • Interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
  •  Hire, train, and supervise staff and student workers.
  •  Work independently and use sound judgment in making decisions.
  • Maintain confidentiality with sensitive information concerning faculty, staff, and students.
  • Develop and maintain budgets.
  • Develop and monitor enrollment projection models.
  • Interface effectively with the executive leadership group of UWW, including the Chancellor, Provost, and other Vice Chancellors.
  • Interface with leaders and other staff of other UW institutions and UW System Administration.
  • Collaborate with University Marketing and Communications, the Chief Marketing Officer, and other marketing personnel from across the university to effectively market the university, portraying creative and novel visions that attract and retain UWW students.
  • Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills.

 

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 Primary Functions and Duties:

  • Provide strategic leadership and work collaboratively to enhance enrollment and retention services, promote student success, and improve student retention and graduation rates.
  • Provide strategic leadership, supervision, and coordination within the offices of Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, Academic Advising and Exploration, Campus Tutorial Services & Testing Center, and First Year Experience to ensure maximum effective cooperation and communication among personnel with the goal of promoting student success.
  • Create and monitor projections and data regarding enrollment, retention, and graduation-related activities, in collaboration with Institutional Research and Planning and other offices.
  • Manage and analyze enrollment, financial aid, retention, and graduation rate data.
  • Partner with other leaders within Academic Affairs to advance divisional strategic goals; and the broader campus community to help deliver on the University Strategic Plan.
  • Collaborate with Faculty Senate committees regarding academic policies for the university.
  • With the UW-Whitewater Foundation, support alumni relations efforts and help communicate the financial needs of our students in support of donor philanthropy.
  • Be an effective ambassador for UW-Whitewater in the community, state, nation, and world.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

 

Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting annual salary commensurate with the candidate’s education, related experience, and qualifications.
