Admissions and Academic Standards Committee
FUNCTION
- To review of academic appeals in accordance with the appeals procedures managed by the Office of Academic Standards
- To review applications for academic forgiveness in accordance with relevant policies
- To recommend to the Faculty Senate policy revisions related to:
- Academic standards
- Academic forgiveness
- Admission standards
MEMBERSHIP
12 Elected Voting Members
Note that this committee will meet in the summer, so 9-month employees are encouraged to be on other summer contracts.
- One faculty member from each college, elected by their constituency
- One Master Advisor faculty member from each college, elected by their constituency
- Two academic staff members, selected by Academic Staff Assembly
5 Ex-officio Voting Members:
- Provost or designee
- Director of Admissions or designee
- Registrar or designee
- Academic Standards Coordinator
- Director of the Academic Advising and Exploration Center
This committee shall be chaired by one of the elected faculty members in collaboration with the Academic Standards Coordinator, who shall manage the appeals process.
TERM
Two-year staggered terms for elected faculty members.
