School Counselors

Support all students in their academic, career, and social emotional development.

  • Design and deliver school counseling programs that improve student outcomes
  • Collaborate with families, teacher, school administrators, and other community members to:
    • Promote student success
    • Analyze data to identify students' challenges and needs
    • Effect systemic change with improved equity, access, achievement, and opportunities for all students
  • Master's degree, school counselor licensure, and either a full-year internship or two years of teaching experience required in Wisconsin
  • National recommended ration: one school counselor per 250 students
