School Counselors
Support all students in their academic, career, and social emotional development.
- Design and deliver school counseling programs that improve student outcomes
- Collaborate with families, teacher, school administrators, and other community members to:
- Promote student success
- Analyze data to identify students' challenges and needs
- Effect systemic change with improved equity, access, achievement, and opportunities for all students
- Master's degree, school counselor licensure, and either a full-year internship or two years of teaching experience required in Wisconsin
- National recommended ration: one school counselor per 250 students

Examples of Interventions
- Design and implement an evidence-based, school-wide program on social-emotional learning in an elementary school
- Run a short-term middle school counseling group focused on grief
- Work with high school students to explore different post-secondary options
