Honors Conference Participation
Honors Program
Honors students may apply for an opportunity to present a project at the Upper Midwest Regional Honors Conference (UMHC). Eligible projects include meritorious H-Option Projects, a research or creative project originating from an Honors course/section, or an applied project that has enhanced UW-Whitewater’s University Honors Program, including its affiliated communities, the Honors Learning Community, and the Honors Student Association.
During years in which the Honors Program plans to attend an Honors Conference, the deadline for submitting your application to the University Honors Program is January 1st. Please reach out to honors@uww.edu before submitting materials, to see there are any research conference opportunities on the horizon that the program is planning to travel to.
If your application is selected by both UW-W’s Honors Council and the UMHC, the major expenses related to your conference participation (registration fee, lodging, transportation, the cost of creating a poster, etc.) will be covered by the University Honors Program (UHP). Individual and group projects are encouraged, but only a total of three members from each group can be funded. Up to ten students can be funded each year for UMHC participation.
If you have any questions about the UMHC, direct them to honors@uww.edu.
