University Data
DFW Grades
The DFW dashboard provides information on the distribution of grades earned by undergraduate students in undergraduate courses. The data focuses on those categories of grades not associated with student progress - namely: D and F, as well as withdrawals (W) from a course that occur after the add/drop deadline. Specifically, the dashboard allows users to differentiate between:
- students who have earned a passing grade (A+ through C-)
- students who have earned a D+, D, D-, or F (Failure)
- students who withdrew from a course (W)
- students who received no credit in a pass/fail course or audited course
The dashboard contains information on DFW rates over the past five (5) academic years by college and department, as well as by individual course. Information on gateway courses (those that must be completed in order for student to take higher level courses) and development courses (those that must be completed before a student is permitted to enroll in college-level Mathematics or English instruction) are also highlighted. Data on the dashboard may be disaggregated in a variety of ways, including by demographic markers (such as gender and URM status) as well as by term and course level. For more information on the subject codes used in the dashboard, please consult the UW-W CAC Subject List.
