Engagement, excellence and affordability make the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater’s online programs among the best in the state and the nation, according to new rankings from U.S. News & World Report.
For 2019, UW-Whitewater’s online MBA ranks No. 1 in Wisconsin among single-institution programs, and No. 21 in the nation. The online bachelor’s degree ranks tops in the state among public institutions, finishing in the top 50 in the nation.
“We’re proud of the exceptional quality of our academic programs at UW-Whitewater, and that extends to our online offerings,” said Provost Susan Elrod. “The same credentialed faculty who teach on-campus courses are teaching online courses. Our programs maintain the same rigorous standards to ensure quality in all aspects, from course design to assessments. Online programming offers flexibility. You don’t have to be on campus — you can be anywhere in the world and still enroll in outstanding programs.”
Online learning is a rich experience for UW-Whitewater students, who have access to academic advising, library services, financial aid, technical support, mentoring and career placement services. Students can readily connect with faculty by phone, email or web conferencing, and they build connections with peers through online assignments and discussion boards.
“It’s not a coincidence that the top-ranked programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business,” said John Chenoweth, dean of the College of Business and Economics. “AACSB accreditation provides a framework for driving continuous improvement, and verifies that the programs meet rigorous standards. This mark of quality assures students they are getting a world-class business education whether they complete their degree on campus or online.”
Launched in 1998, the online MBA was one of the first of its kind offered nationally and has always distinguished itself by its quality. The online BBA continues to grow, with four majors fully online, and more to be added in the coming years.
“While U.S. News & World Report features dozens of high-quality programs, the online MBA from UW-Whitewater stands out for its affordability and flexibility,” said Paul Ambrose, associate dean. “The program’s fixed-rate tuition is a significant value for students whether they are from Wisconsin, out of state or from around the world. Students can also personalize their degree plan with one of 11 emphases, including a customized emphasis.”
“UW-Whitewater’s online bachelor’s and MBA programs are a perfect option for people looking for professional development opportunities, or those looking to finish their degrees,” Elrod said. “Whether you are a veteran or transfer student, or a student whose life took you away from your studies or to another part of the country or world, we’re dedicated to working with you to help you complete your degree.”
