On Feb. 10, 2022, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater joined more than 900 other member colleges and universities to make its application available on the Common Application, generally referred to as the Common App, in addition to the UW System application.

More than 1 million prospective students use the Common App to search for or apply to colleges every year. In Wisconsin, UW-Whitewater joins UW-Eau Claire, UW-Madison, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Stevens Point and UW-Stout in offering the Common App in addition to the UW System application.

Prospective new freshman domestic students for fall 2022 who have already applied to schools through the Common App will now also be able to apply to UW-Whitewater at no extra charge and with no additional paperwork.

“We hope that the Common App introduces more prospective students across the country to UW-Whitewater,” said Jackie Briggs, director of admissions. “From our tremendous value and affordability to our exceptional faculty interaction and small classes, we want people to know that students not only enjoy a great experience while they are on campus but successful outcomes too.”

Both the Common App and the UW System application can be accessed from the Admissions homepage on the UW-Whitewater website.
