Placement Registration
Testing
Please read the following instructions before registering for a UW System Placement Exam.
- NOTE: UW System Placement online exams will be unavailable from January 31st, 2025 to March 15th, 2025. All online exams must be completed and submitted before January 31st, 2025, or else all progress will be lost. If you need to take a placement test between 1/31/2025 and 3/15/2025, please reach out to us at testing@uww.edu or call us at 262-472-5613 to schedule an in-person exam.
- If you have questions or issues when registering for the online UW System Placement exams, contact the Center for Placement Testing by phone at 608-262-5863 or by email at frontdesk@exams.wisc.edu.
- All exams are online and unproctored.
- UW Whitewater allows unproctored Math exams, so please choose the Math A exam for Math placement.
- You will log in with your UWW NetID and password to complete the registration form before taking the exam.
- Please use your UWW email address for your email. You will need to access this email to retrieve a confirmation code.
- Within two business days of registering (but more likely within a few minutes), you will receive an email from Meazure Learning with a username and password for accessing the exams.
- You will use the instructions for On Demand Testing.
- To take the exams, your web browser must be able to accept cookies, JavaScript, and pop-up windows. We recommend you use the most up-to-date version of your web browser. If you leave or log out of an exam before finishing, you may log back in and the system will remember how much time was remaining.
- The standard time for the Math A and English tests is 90 minutes, while the standard time for the World Language exams is 60 minutes.
- Upon completing an exam, you must submit it in order for us to receive your scores. If you forget to submit your exam, you should be able to log back into the system to submit.
- If you are taking more than one exam, you do not need to take the exams on a single day. You have 180 days to start a placement test once eligibility for the placement exam has been determined.
- Incoming students will see a $50 Course Placement Fee on their student bill. It covers the cost to facilitate placement tests at our institution, and any future tests facilitated by the testing center. If a student withdraws or graduates without using the testing center, the fee can be reversed.
Accommodations
- If you would like to request to take the online placement tests under non-standard conditions due to a disability, please do not sign up online. Instead, go to the UW Center for Placement Testing and follow the instructions to email your information to Tim O'Connor and begin the accommodation process. Please call or email the UW Center for Placement Testing at 608-262-5863 or frontdesk@exams.wisc.edu if you have any questions about the process.
