College GPA Requirements

Some departments or programs require a higher GPA than the 2.0 standard requirement.

College of Arts and Communications

• Media Arts and Game Development major: 2.50 combined GPA

College of Business and Economics

• 24+ credits: 2.50 combined GPA
• Occupational Safety major, 24+ credits: 2.25 combined GPA

College of Education and Professional Studies

• Teaching/licensure majors

  • No minimum GPA requirement to declare

    • All students entering the Foundations courses, including undergraduates, transfer students, and baccalaureate degree holding students, must meet the following criteria:

      1. Passing scores on the Praxis CORE/ACT/SAT or GRE (students need passing scores in all components of the selected test within the last ten years).

      OR

      2. A 2.75 combined cumulative GPA (grade point average); On a minimum of 12 completed credits

    • 2.75 GPA is required by DPI to receive WI teaching license
• Human Performance
  • Less than 24 credits: no GPA limit
  • 24 + credits: 2.25 combined GPA

• Communication Sciences & Disorders
  • Less than 24 credits: no GPA limit
  • 24 – 71 credits: 2.25 combined GPA
  • 72 + credits: 2.50 combined GPA

College of Letters and Sciences

• Integrated Science and Business major: 2.50 combined GPA
