Advising Process
Welcome
An Intro meeting is scheduled at the start of your first semester at UW-Whitewater to discuss essential information for your success. Additionally, this meeting is a good opportunity to ask questions. Please come prepared with any questions you may have about the upcoming semester.
Each semester, review the AAEC Canvas course. Read the text and watch all videos related to how to select your classes and use WINS. Then either schedule a course planning meeting with your advisor to discuss course recommendations and the registration process or develop a list of classes you plan to take and submit to it to the AAEC Canvas site.
TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH YOUR ADVISOR
- Use the Navigate App
Things to Bring to Your Appointments
- Print a copy of your Academic Advising Report (AAR) from the WINS system
- Questions for your Academic Advisor
- A list of possible classes for the following semester.
Advisees of the Academic Advising & Exploration Center have holds placed on their records on the WINS System. Holds are released only after completing course planning. Failure to follow the above process may result in the inability to register at the assigned time and date.
Who Uses The Center?
Students with fewer than 24 units (with the exception of Music majors) and all undeclared students will be assigned an advisor in our office.
We offer drop-in services to all students from 8:00am to 4:oopm Monday-Friday to answer any questions that may arise. Feel free to drop-in or request additional appointments if necessary.
