NEXT STEPS: Reserve Your Spot at UW-Whitewater!

Congratulations #FutureWarhawk! We are excited that you are ready to join the Warhawk family. To reserve your spot and set yourself up for a successful year, just follow the steps below:

Set up your UW-Whitewater Credentials

Now that you are a #FutureWarhawk, it is time to establish your log-in credentials. You'll use this username and password to log in to all university systems, including your WINS account and your email. Your campus email is the main way we will be contacting you from now on. Check it regularly so you do not miss out on important campus information and reminders.

Follow these steps to establish your log-in credentials:

  1. Visit password.uww.edu and click on the log-in button on the left side of your screen.

  2. The next page will require a username and password. Your username is your Net-ID, and your password is your seven-digit ID number (both your Net-ID and seven-digit ID number can be found on your admission letter).

  3. You will then be prompted to change your password.

  4. Once your password is changed, you can access all university accounts using your Net-ID and new password.

Start your housing contract

Your housing contract is available starting Oct. 1, 2020. Due to the high demand for on-campus housing, we recommend you submit your signed housing contract along with the $125 housing deposit as soon as possible. You will have the opportunity to be matched with a roommate at a later date. To begin, visit uww.edu/housing, navigate to "Apply for Housing" and select your contract. Then, select "Housing Portal Registration" and provide your UW-Whitewater email address and seven-digit ID number to get started.

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The FAFSA is available at  fafsa.ed.gov starting Oct. 1, 2020. The priority deadline for submission is  Jan. 1, 2021. If you completed the FAFSA and submitted all your required materials by Jan. 1, your award letter will be sent beginning Feb. 1.

Register for Placement Testing

Math, English and World Language Placement

  • Math and English
    • Students will be placed into math and/or English class based on ACT or SAT subscores (if available).
  • World Language
    • If a student hopes to continue in a world language (Spanish, German, French), they will be required to take the appropriate world language placement exam.  Registration can be accessed at https://exams.wisc.edu/placement/regionaltesting/information.php.
      • Heritage speakers/speakers of Spanish will be referred to the World Language Coordinator (Alicia de Gregorio – through Summer 2021, Pilar Melero – Fall 2021) to determine whether or not they should take the UW System Spanish Placement test.
      •  Students interested in taking Arabic, Chinese or Japanese should contact the World Language Coordinator.

While students are not charged a fee the day a placement test is taken, a one-time fee (i.e., 'Course Placement Fee') will be placed on students' first tuition bill.

NOTE:  New students are required to submit ACT/SAT scores or take the English and/or math placement test unless they have transfer coursework or credit by exam scores in these areas.  More information regarding equivalencies for test scores and retrocredits can be found at https://www.uww.edu/testing/exams-for-credit.

Beginning March 15,  2021,  students will need to register on the University of Wisconsin Center for Placement Testing website for any placement exam.  Note there will be some lag time when UW-Whitewater will receive your scores, therefore, we strongly suggest you test (and submit your test) at least a week before your SOAR date.
