NEXT STEPS

Reserve Your Spot at UW-Whitewater!

Congratulations #FutureWarhawk!  We are excited that you are ready to join the Warhawk family. To reserve your spot and set yourself up for a successful year, just follow the steps below:

Set up your UW-Whitewater Credentials

Now that you are a future Warhawk, it is time to establish your log-in credentials. You'll use this username and password to log in to all university systems, including your WINS account and your email.

Follow these steps to establish your log-in credentials:

  1. Visit Identity Management Applications and click on the log-in button on the left side of your screen.

  2. The next page will require a username and password. Your username is your Net-ID, and your password is your seven-digit ID number (both your Net-ID and seven-digit ID number can be found on your admission letter).

  3. You will then be prompted to change your password.

  4. Once your password is changed, you can access all university accounts using your Net-ID and new password.

Start your housing contract

The fall 25 housing contract is available starting Oct. 1, 2024. Due to the high demand for on-campus housing, we recommend you submit the online housing contract and the $125 housing deposit as soon as possible. Submitting your contract early locks in your housing preferences. You will have the opportunity to select or be matched with a roommate at a later date. Visit Housing Contracts to begin.

Complete the 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®)

The 2025-26 FAFSA becomes available at Federal Student Aid on or before December 1, 2024. Financial aid offers will be sent in spring 2025. You do not need to have completed your housing contract in order to file your FAFSA. Visit Financial Aid for more information.

Prepare for course placement and registration

Students are placed into math and English courses based on ACT, SAT, or placement exam scores, or dual credit equivalencies. If you are an incoming student and the ACT/SAT was not taken, you will be asked to complete the math and English placement tests prior to Warhawks SOAR. The Testing Center has more information about course placement requirements and placement testing.

Register for Warhawks SOAR

Warhawks SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration) is your first orientation program where you will connect with other new Warhawks, learn more about the university, meet with academic advisors, and register for courses. Warhawks SOAR registration is available beginning March 1, 2025.  To register, log into your WINS account, select "Warhawks SOAR" and follow the prompts.
