Next Steps: Reserve Your Spot at UW-Whitewater!

Congratulations #FutureWarhawk! We are excited that you are ready to join the Warhawk family. To reserve your spot and set yourself up for a successful year, just follow the steps below:

Set up your UW-Whitewater Credentials

Now that you are a #FutureWarhawk, it is time to establish your log-in credentials. You'll use this username and password to log in to all university systems, including your WINS account and your email. Your campus email is the main way we will be contacting you from now on. Check it regularly so you do not miss out on important campus information and reminders.

Follow these steps to establish your log-in credentials:

  1. Visit password.uww.edu and click on the log-in button on the left side of your screen.

  2. The next page will require a username and password. Your username is your Net-ID, and your password is your seven-digit ID number (both your Net-ID and seven-digit ID number can be found on your admission letter).

  3. You will then be prompted to change your password.

  4. Once your password is changed, you can access all university accounts using your Net-ID and new password.

Start your housing contract

Your housing contract is available now! Due to the high demand for on-campus housing, we recommend you submit your signed housing contract along with the $125 housing deposit as soon as possible. You will have the opportunity to select a Learning Community and be matched with a roommate at a later date. Visit uww.edu/housing to begin, and note that you will use your seven-digit ID number as both your username and password when accessing the housing contract.

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The FAFSA is available at fafsa.ed.gov starting Oct. 1, 2019. The priority deadline for submission is Jan. 1, 2020. If you completed the FAFSA and submitted all your required materials by Jan. 1, your award letter will be sent beginning Feb. 1.

Register for Warhawks SOAR

Warhawks SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration) is your first orientation program where you will connect with other new Warhawks and talk with academic advisors for course enrollment. Warhawks SOAR registration is available in your WINS account now!

How to Register for Warhawks SOAR

Fall 2020 new students can register for Warhawks SOAR now! To register, log into your WINS account, select "Warhawks SOAR" and follow the prompts.

During the unprecedented COVID-19 situation, your health and safety remain our top priority. As a result, all Warhawks SOAR programs for fall 2020 students will take place virtually.  All new students are still required to participate in the SOAR program in order to enroll in classes.

Visit First Year Experience for more information.

Math, English and Foreign Language Placement

Beginning March 19, 2020, you will be placed in math and English courses based on your ACT/SAT sub-scores or previous college-level coursework. If you have previously completed the Math Placement Test (MPT), the University will place you in math coursework according to your MPT scores. If you prefer to be placed in coursework based on the University of Wisconsin System placement test, first register for and attend your Warhawks SOAR program and your advisor will help you register for the appropriate coursework.

We are working with campus partners to determine world language proficiency for placement in foreign language courses. If you have previously completed the foreign language placement test (FLPT), the University will place you in foreign language coursework according to your FLPT scores. We will share more information regarding world language placement on this page as soon as we are able.

We can't wait to welcome you to the Warhawk family!
