Attacks, Acclaims, and Defenses in the Historic 2024 U.S. Presidential Debates
November 4
Corey Davis, professor, Communication
The 2024 U.S. Presidential election between President Biden and former President Trump was already set to be an historic campaign for a number of reasons, most notably as it was the first rematch since Adlai Stevenson versus Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956. The 2024 debates would make the campaign even more historic. This lecture will provide a brief history of televised U.S. Presidential debates. It will analyze the function and content of 2024 debate discourse and provide historical comparisons for context.
Lectures will be held on Mondays at 3 p.m. in the Olm Fellowship Hall of Fairhaven Senior Services, 435 West Starin Road, Whitewater. They are open to the public. Registration is not required.
