Center for the Advancement of Teaching, Learning, Scholarship, and Technology
The Center for the Advancement of Teaching, Learning, Scholarship and Technology (CATLST) fosters a culture of educational excellence at UWW by providing high quality professional development for educators grounded in evidence-based best practices in effective teaching and learning.
Our Core Values
Accessibility
We strive to create programs that account for the breadth of faculty, staff, and student abilities, lived-experiences, and world views. We endorse teaching approaches that enable every learner to achieve their goals.
Community
We seek to build cross-collegial relationships that connect faculty and staff to share best practices and build community. We work to build strong partnerships with other units on campus to support professional development in teaching and learning,
Innovation
We support initiatives to experiment with and test innovative pedagogical techniques and models. We actively engage in programming that supports leveraging both existing and new technologies to enhance learning and support student success.
Enrichment
We honor the human need for learning and challenge across a lifetime. We strive to provide programming that promotes growth in knowledge, reflection, skill and expertise at all stages of one’s career.
Evidence
We believe in data-informed decisions relative to teaching and learning. We use the scholarship of teaching and learning to develop our programs, and we facilitate the exploration, application, and production of research on teaching in our work with others.
Recognition
We believe in a culture of appreciation and recognition. We develop programs and support initiatives that recognize individuals who are dedicated to improving teaching and learning.
