Brian Schanen
Forensic Advisor/Lecturer 2, Lecturer (Ss)

Brian is a media and organizational strategist, focused on establishing clear organizational direction. He has worked with numerous small businesses and non-profit organizations to produce and integrate video into their marketing and business processes. Brian strives to foster community connections and increase opportunties for students.

Brian wears many hats on campus including
-Internship coordinator for the Communication and Journalism programs
-Associate Director of Undergraduate Research
-Co-Director of Forensics

Brian earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Master of Science in Mass Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He teaches courses in public speaking, media production, film, and media literacy. With nearly two decades of forensics experience, Brian is the Co-Director of the university’s nationally competitive forensics team. The team competes in 11 different speech events, and hosts a number of high school outreach events each year.
