Jared Janovec's career as an artist spans nearly two decades. Janovec's primary creative focus throughout his career has been in the development of ceramic and mixed media object-oriented compositions and works of sculpture that speak to human, botanical and other biological imagery and narratives, typically composed and presented in the context of the diorama or specimen. His work has been included numerous international, national and regionally adjudicated and invitational exhibitions, has received awards and other recognition, and resides in the public and private collections of the Arizona State University Art Museum and Sanford Besser, respectively, among others. As an educator and mentor, he has served 1000's of students over a teaching career that spans nearly 15 years, and is currently an Associate Professor of Art and Design at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in Whitewater, WI. Janovec resides in Whitewater, WI where he maintains a studio and furthers his creative research and activity.
