Professor Dan Kim received both his BFA and MFA in graphic design from the Tyler School of Art. Before coming to work as a professor at UW-Whitewater, Dan was employed at Design Science as an Interface Designer working for clients such as GE, Motorola, Polaroid corp., Texas Instrument, Xerox, Ethicon, and TD. Recent achievements include: London Internation Creative Competition, Communicator Award, Malcolm Graphics Award, and Kalnin Graphics Award. His design work has been recognized in the CMYK Magazine, Creative Quarterly Graphic Design Journal and Graphic Design Basics 4/E. He also exhibited work at the Ice Box Project Space at Temple University and the New Generation International Graphic Design Exhibition in South Korea. He is an active member of the AIGA and was on the AIGA student portfolio review committee and speaker/reviewer at AIGA Wisconsin Portfolio Conference at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and Concordia University also he has presentated portfolio coures/workshop at Bajing Normal University, Wuhan University in China, and Universities in South Korea.
