Dr. Rebekah Johnson is an Assistant Professor in the Kinesiology Department at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. She holds a Doctor of Education in Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University, a Master of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and a Bachelor of Science in Education with licensure in Physical Education, Health Education, and Adaptive Physical Education.
With extensive experience in both higher education and K-12 settings, Dr. Johnson specializes in health and physical education pedagogy, curriculum development, and assessment. She teaches courses such as Assessment in Physical Education, Health Literacy and Standards-Based Education, and Methods of Teaching Health Education. Her research focuses on teacher preparation, specifically studying how inquiry and collaboration influence preservice teacher efficacy.
Dr. Johnson is actively involved in professional service and leadership, having served as the Vice President of the Wisconsin Health and Physical Education (WHPE) Board of Directors. She has contributed to national discussions on teacher preparation, skills-based health education, and technology integration in physical education. Her work has been published by Human Kinetics and professional newsletters, and she frequently presents at national and state conferences.
