Professor Johnson's research interests include teacher education, social studies, drama in education, ethnotheatre, and poetic autoethnography. He has over a dozen publications in the form of articles in referred journals and book chapters. Professor Johnson was a former recipient of the McClellan Endowed Teacher of Distinction Award and a former recipient of the University Honors Program Excellence in Mentoring Award at UW-Whitewater. In his spare time, he enjoys running, board games, and theatre arts.
