The Calculated Careers Learning Community at UW-Whitewater is designed for first-year students committed to earning a business degree but still exploring which major to pursue.

This community provides support to help students learn about various fields within business and the majors offered at UW-Whitewater. Through hands-on projects, workshops, networking events, and connections with industry professionals, students will find the clarity and confidence needed to choose a business major that fits their goals. This will help them build a strong foundation for a successful career

Learning Community Coordinator

Using a theme of "Everybody's Business," this learning community is available to all business majors.

The Everybody’s Business learning community is for business majors to learn and practice effective principles of leadership that can be applied to all business professionals in the classroom and outside of it.

Gain a better understanding of your strengths and weaknesses and how they relate to characteristics needed by effective leaders in the business world. Business students will gain a higher confidence level as they become business professionals.

By joining Everybody’s Business, you will have the opportunity to get involved in organized service leadership opportunities, participate in business and social-related activities, and explore all concepts and aspects of the business world.

Who can I live with if I join this Learning Community?

  • You can live with anyone with a housing assignment in Knilans Hall (including students in other LCs in Knilans Hall)

Learning Community Coordinator

The Innovators Learning Community is for business majors who enjoy thinking outside the box, dreaming up new ideas and learning how to grow those dreams into successful organizations.

The Community will explore ways to create new products, services, technologies and ideas that bring positive change to markets, governments, and society. This includes both for profit and nonprofit organizations.

By joining The Innovators, you can network with entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs, visit organizations that support growing businesses, and gain skills that will help you take your ideas and build your future.

Who can I live with if I join this Learning Community?

  • You can live with anyone who has a housing assignment in Knilans Hall (including students in other learning communities living in Knilans Hall)
