SOAR Schedule

Welcome to the Warhawk Family!

We're thrilled to have you as a new Warhawk. The events of Warhawks SOAR will get you ready for the coming year and help set you on the path to success at UW-Whitewater. The day will run from 8:15 am - 4:00 pm with various sessions to help prepare incoming Warhawks. Get an idea of what your day at SOAR will look like below.

Morning Sessions

The morning sessions will include students and guests together.

Check-In

Welcome Address

Paying for College

During this session, UW-Whitewater Financial Aid and Student Financial Services staff will share key dates and important resources to support our Warhawks paying for college.

Academic Advising Overview

This overview will explain generally what academic advising consists of and what students can expect to experience when registering for courses.

Exploring Housing, HawkCard, and Dining

This session will provide important information regarding your on-campus living experience at UWW. We will cover a variety of topics related to daily student life, including: the residence hall living experience, meal plans, dining options, and HawkCard.

Commuter Resources, HawkCard, and Dining

This session is intended for commuter and off-campus housing students. We will cover a variety of topics related to daily student life, including: the Adult Student Outreach Coordinator, commuter meal plans, dining options, and HawkCard.

College Sessions

Connect with staff and learn more about your academic major. Learn more about your specific college from staff in the College of Arts and Communication, College of Business and Economics, College of Education and Professional Studies, and College of Letters and Sciences.

Afternoon Sessions

  • Hawk Squad Small Group
    Connect with other incoming students and learn about resources that will support your success in your first semester and through graduation as a Warhawk.
  • Lunch and First Year Experience
  • Advising Advising, and Registration
    Learn more about UWW’s First Year Experience Office and support programs. Students will break up by major and meet with college advisors to discuss course options and then register for classes.
  • Lunch
  • Warhawk Family Session
    Learn more about UW-Whitewater’s First Year Experience Office and support programs for both new students and their family members.
  • Collaborative Campus Connections
    Discover more about UW-Whitewater’s holistic approach to student success and ways you can support your Warhawk.

End of Day Sessions

Students and Guests will come back together for the final sessions of the day.

Campus Resource Fair

Students and guests will have the opportunity to engage with several UW-Whitewater departments to learn more about specific resources/services and ask questions.

Campus Close-Ups

Hawk Squad leaders will escort students and guests around campus, highlighting academic buildings, and viewing a residence hall model room. Close-ups end at parking lot 14.
