Testimonials

The University of Wisconsin Whitewater Madison Cooperative program fostered experience and exposure to advanced research and current topics in the field of education. The courses and the field based components were instrumental in shaping my leadership practices in my current role as an Educational Director at Genesee Lake School in Oconomowoc, WI. The instructors were experts, the material was relevant, strategies are practical and the cohort model encouraged collaboration on multiple levels. The skills and foundational understanding of education for all students will carry with me forever in my professional career.

I highly recommend the Co-op Program between UW-Madison and UW-Whitewater! It was very convenient for me to drive the short distance to Whitewater for some of my course work. The instructors on both campuses were fantastic! I benefitted from the perfect balance between instructors working in school districts and professors doing research and writing the books we used in the courses.

The learning I experienced was invaluable, and I credit my success as a principal to the Co-op program!

I want to say that I am proud graduate of the UW-Madison/Whitewater ELPA Program. I came into the program as a seven year special education teacher veteran. Through my two full years of graduate studies, I earned my licensure as a Principal and Director of Instruction/Pupil Services.

There are not enough good things I can say about this program. The professors were knowledgable and experienced in the field of educational leadership, the projects were meaningful and practical, and the content was current and applicable to what current educational leaders are discussing and experiencing.

The Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis Master’s degree program at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater and the University of Wisconsin Madison enabled me to fast track my dreams to becoming an administrator. The leadership skills, innovation and world renowned research practices helped me to increase my administrative capacity. I would highly recommend this program for anyone looking for a great networking institution as well rigorous coursework. The professors are great and the other students create a real life Professional Learning Community that supports success.

I am proud to be a graduate of the ELPA Co-op program. Now entering my 4th year as an administrator, I continue to reflect upon specific lessons, class discussions, and advice from professors as I strive to lead students and staff well.

The program layout incorporates a great balance of sound theory and practical application, allowing for personalized learning on many levels. Lower tuition cost and decreased travel time were also very appreciated.

The ELPA program, through UW-Whitewater and UW-Madison, gave me a solid background in school improvement and managing the change process, which is a key skill for educational leaders today. The program provided a great balance between learning theoretical frameworks for tackling problems and more hands-on, practical knowledge from experienced administrators. Being able to take classes on the Whitewater or Madison campus provided the flexibility that I needed while I continued to work full-time. The program prepared me well for the challenges I have faced as an educational leader.
