Assessment and Faculty Development Fellow
The Assessment and Faculty Development Fellow will play a central role in capacity building and academic program and faculty support related to student learning assessment at UWW. Campus is looking to build infrastructure and additional resources toward a sustainable culture of assessment. This fellowship provides an opportunity for interested faculty to strengthen their skills in team-management, to deepen their expertise in evaluating student learning, and to participate in developing a purposeful culture of assessment at an institutional level. The fellow supports academic assessment though outreach and support, including but not limited to program review management, consultations, and professional and resource development.
The Assessment Fellow will report to and work closely with the Director of Institutional Research, Assessment, and Planning (IRAP), who provides leadership on academic assessment work in collaboration with the program review committee.
Roles and Responsibilities (May 2025- May 2027)
- Co-plan and co-lead the Assessment Institute
- Serve as an assessment resource to support programs in defining measurable program level student learning outcomes, curricular maps, and assessment plans
- Occasional attendance at assessment related committee meetings when aligned with fellowship goals (e.g., University Assessment Committee, Program Review, General Education Review Committee)
- Learn the program review administrative processes
- Serve as ex-officio member on select review teams and face to face meetings
- Prepare annual report to system of Program Review findings
Fellowship Support
The fellow will receive one course reassignment per semester (two in total across each academic year) at the standard University rate to support the time commitment of the work associated with the role. The fellow will also receive summer stipend of $2,500 for each summer, and have the opportunity to attend the Assessment Institute, hosted in Indianapolis by Indiana University at Indianapolis during fall 2025, supported by funds from IRAP.
