Financial Resources

Paying for school can be a complicated. Part of being successful in college is having a plan to maintain financial wellness. There are many things to consider including:

Definitions and Strategies

The  Financial Aid Office provides all current and prospective UW-Whitewater students with the necessary financial aid information, counseling, and timely monetary assistance to support them in their pursuit of a college education. The first step to receive financial aid support is to complete the FAFSA. This must be completed every year and the application opens on October 1st.  If you have questions or need assistance with this process, the Financial Aid office is willing to help! You can stop in their office during their walk-in hours (located on the bottom of their website) or you can schedule a meeting with your assigned  Financial Aid Administrator.

Looking for more information about types of student aid? Check out the Federal Student Aid website.

Scholarships are another way to help pay for school. UW-Whitewater has numerous scholarships that are offered through the university and they can be accessed here:  UW-Whitewater Scholarships. The Financial Aid Office has also outlined other resources for you to find additional scholarships.

Finding ways to pay for school is already daunting and it may be hard to understand the long term financial impact of these decisions. This is where the Financial Literacy Coordinator and the  Peer Financial Educators can help. Check out the  Financial Literacy Center and schedule a financial coaching session today! They also have a ton of great resources and tools about budgeting, credit, banking, and more!

Student Accounts is the office that handles tuition billing and payments. This is the office if you have questions about your student bill, are unsure how to pay your bill, or are looking to go on a payment plan.
