Work at UW-Whitewater This Summer

Summer 2024 On-Campus Jobs

When classes end in May, UW-Whitewater continues to be open when students leave the campus for the summer.  Many departments hire UW-Whitewater students to help out during the summer months.  You do not need to be taking summer classes at UW-Whitewater to work on campus over the summer.

There are many great reasons to work at UW-Whitewater over the summer!  

  • Reduced Cost Summer Housing: Any UWW student can choose to live on the UWW campus this summer for a very reduced price ($50 per week or $300 maximum for the entire summer).  For questions about summer housing, please contact University Housing at housing@uww.edu.  Summer contracts are available beginning April 1, 2024 on the Housing website.
  • Flexible Hours & Higher Pay for Campus Jobs: Some departments offer a higher pay rate for students working on campus over the summer, and many offer flexible part-time or full-time work schedules.
  • Build Your Resume: Summer campus jobs typically offer more responsibility and additional projects to help you build your skills and add experiences to your resume.
  • Get to Know UW-Whitewater: Learn more about our campus & build connections with coworkers, supervisors and UWW staff members. You can also enjoy the beautiful landscaping our campus offers during the summer months!
  • Fun Things to Do in the Whitewater Community: Whitewater and the surrounding communities have a lot to offer! With lots of restaurants, indoor and outdoor recreation opportunities, events and entertainment available all summer, there’s a lot to do in your free time.  Check out next tab for a list of some of the awesome things you can do in the Whitewater area during the summer months.

Summer 2024 Dining Dollar Plans

  • Summer Dining Dollar Plans are effective Wednesday, May 15, 2024 and are placed on the student bill
  • For Summer 2024, the overhead charge for purchasing a Summer Dining Dollar plan has been waived.  Students can purchase 300 Dining Dollars with the entire amount being available to use to dine on campus.
  • When Dining Dollars are used there is a savings of 10 to 15% depending on location, plus sales tax!  Additional Dining Dollars can be purchased at any time.  Unused Dining Dollars will roll over into the Fall semester.

Find More On-Campus Jobs on Handshake

There are many positions currently listed on Handshake besides the ones below.  Current students & students registered for classes have access to Handshake.  If you are accepted to UWW but haven't registered for classes yet, email career@uww.edu to request a Handshake account. 

  1. Go to handshake and log in with your NetID and password.  If this is your first time logging in, you'll need to set up your Handshake profile.
  2. Click on Jobs
  3. Select the "On-Campus" filter. 
  4. Type "Summer" as a keyword to see jobs available for summer
