Dr. Niemeier has been a faculty member in the Department of Psychology at UW-Whitewater since 2008 and has served as a LEARN Center Fellow since 2023. She teaches across the department’s curriculum, including Individual & Society, Psychopathology, Introduction to Clinical, Counseling, and School Psychology, Advanced Health Psychology, and Field Training in Psychology. Dr. Niemeier earned a B.A. in Psychology and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder.  She completed both her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral training in Behavioral Medicine at Brown Medical School.  Her research focuses on the prevention and treatment of obesity and eating disorders.  Her most recent work applies acceptance-based treatment approaches to behavioral weight loss and examines disordered eating attitudes and behaviors in college students.
