Rimi Zakaria, Ph.D., is a Professor of Management at the College of Business and Economics. She earned her doctorate at Florida International University. Rimi teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in strategic, global, and behavioral domains. Her pedagogy focuses on incorporating hands-on, technology-forward, and multicultural experiences, encouraging students to apply theoretical knowledge at the intersection of business and society. Rimi’s research takes an interdisciplinary approach to studying organizational outcomes at the crossroads of strategy, sustainability, and international business. Specifically, she examines interorganizational cooperation, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, non-profit organizational processes, employee well-being, and business's environmental impact and social purpose. She has co-authored several teaching cases on these topics. Rimi’s teaching and research received many campus and external nominations and awards. She actively contributes to the leading professional organizations of her disciplines (e.g., the Academy of Management and the Academy of International Business). Rimi is originally from Dhaka, Bangladesh.
