FAQ
How can I become involved with UWW-TV?
You can enroll in one of the many practical experience classes available through the Department of Communication (visit the latest course catalog online for days and times), or contact Jim Mead, Director of Cable Television Operations at (262) 472-5659 or email at meadj@uww.edu.
Where can I find UWW-TV?
We can be found on Channel 100.1 throughout the campus community, and Channel 989 on Spectrum Cable in a coverage area that spans five counties: Walworth, Jefferson, Rock, Winnebago (IL).
Who is our cable television provider?
Currently, UW-Whitewater has a contract with Apogee. They provide us with programming from satellite TV provider Dish Network which we bring in at our Cable Headend. We combine it with antenna-based local channels, satellite-based MTVU, local housing digital signage and UWWTV and UWWTV Classic Sports and then distribute on-campus like a regular cable television company.
What if I experience trouble with my cable reception?
Contact ResNET at 262-472-3233 or resnet@uww.edu
Is there something I should check before calling the technician with a problem?
You can first make sure the incoming cable is correctly connected to the television set. You should also make sure you have programmed your TV to recognize each of the active channels on the system. Your television needs to have a digital clear QAM tuner.
Can I receive HDTV signals from my current service package?
Yes, we now have an all-digital network with 130+ HD channels.
