Student Parking
Parking permits are now digital and enforced via License Plate Recognition (LPR). This means you will not receive any physical permit, because your license plate is your permit. Therefore, it is the permit holder's responsibility to maintain an accurate vehicle record. If there is any need to change vehicle(s) associated with a permit, please log into the parking portal and make the necessary changes directly under your permit. For instructions on how to make vehicle changes click here: vehicle change
Student permits are valid from September to May each year. These permits are valid in the specific lot that is purchased.
Resident Permits
Parking permits are now digital and enforced via License Plate Recognition (LPR). This means you will not receive any physical permit, because your license plate is your permit. Therefore, it is the permit holder's responsibility to maintain an accurate vehicle record. If there is any need to change vehicle(s) associated with a permit, please log into the parking portal and make the necessary changes directly under your permit.
Parking permits for students living in residence halls are limited and sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. Resident permits are assigned on the basis of the students class standing. Upperclassmen (Juniors, Seniors, Graduates, GR-Special-NCF, Post BACC, Ed Specialist) will have priority sales then two days later underclassmen (Sophomores and Freshmen) sales will open. Students who were not able to purchase a permit prior to school beginning have the opportunity to add themselves to a waitlist. However, this means do not bring a vehicle to campus until you receive notification from Parking of available spaces.
Students who will be living in one of the University's 14 residence halls on campus are considered "Resident Students" and are eligible to purchase a resident (yellow) parking permit. Students living in Pulliam Hall or Ma'iingan Hall and have purchased a reserved (red) Lot #3 or Lot #9 parking permit, will park in the spaces designated by signs stating "Red Lot # Permit Required". These spaces are reserved at all times including weekends. Students living off campus in Cambridge, Fox Meadows, or Element Apartments are not eligible to purchase resident permits. They may purchase commuter (orange or brown) permits, however commuter permits do not allow you to leave your vehicle parked in any commuter or resident lots overnight.
Six parking areas near residence halls are reserved Monday through Friday during the fall and spring semesters, for use only by resident parking permit holders. Resident permits are valid only in the assigned parking lot that was purchased. All other parking permits are not valid in these resident areas. Resident parking permits are not valid in stalls that have signs posted "Reserved" or "Restricted". If you park in a metered (AMP Parking) space, you must pay for the time parked in the space by downloading the app. Violators will be subject to tickets. The student resident permit fees are:
-
Reserved Lot 3 and Lot 9: $535.00
-
Lots 2R, 4R, 8, 9R, 17, 18, 19, 20: $335.00
-
Lot 22: $185.00
-
Accessible: $335.00
Accessible Permits
Students living in University residence halls and need accessible parking will be able to purchase an accessible resident (yellow) parking permit online. If you have a state disabled placard or license plate, you will need to upload the DMV documentation as proof when you purchase the accessible permit. Parking retains the right to deny accessible permits if documentation is not valid. The accessible permit is not specific to a lot and will allow parking in any handicap stall throughout campus. If you have any questions regarding accessible parking, contact our office at 262-472-1011.
If at anytime you cannot find an open stall in your lot you have purchased a permit for, you should call Parking Services during our business hours or UWW Police after hours (262-472-4660) to report you are unable to park in your designated lot. We will instruct you where to park so you do not receive an unwanted citation and ticket any violators.
PLEASE NOTE: Once permits are sold out, you will need to find other arrangements if you need your vehicle on campus. It will be your responsibility to find alternative parking. WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE.
Residents who need only infrequent access to their vehicles are encouraged to purchase a permit for Lot 22 at $185 compared to a regular resident pass for $335. This lower cost alternative is located adjacent to baseball field north of the west residence complex for fall semester and then lot 24 for spring semester.

Commuter Parking Permits
Students who do not live in a residence hall on campus and will be driving to campus for classes will purchase a South (orange) or North (brown) parking permit. Commuter student parking permits are only valid for parking in designated commuter parking lots in the academic and athletic areas of campus. Commuter permits are NOT valid in resident (yellow) parking lots, or any stalls that have signs posted "Reserved, Restricted, No Parking, or Timed Metered Spaces". If you park in a metered (AMP) stall, you must pay for the time parked in the space by downloading the app. You are not allowed to park overnight with a commuter permit in any parking lot. Violators will be subject to tickets. The commuter student permit fees are:
-
North (Brown) Commuter Annual: $155.00
North Lots: 11, 18, 19, 21, 24
-
South (Orange) Commuter Annual: $235.00
South Lots: 1, 2, 4, 7, 9, 12, 14, Prince St, Prairie St.
-
Commuter student parking permits are not valid for parking 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. in commuter parking lots and on Prince, Prairie, Koshkonong Drive and Lauderdale Streets
Commuting students who drive infrequently may use any on-campus pay-by-space stalls by downloading the AIMS Mobile Pay parking app. Please note these are short-term parking spaces with a maximum of 2 hour parking limit. These fees are required at all times except for University recognized holidays and on weekends, starting at 5 p.m. Friday through 11:00 p.m. on Sunday. A parking permit does not negate the payment of metered spaces.
Summer Parking
Students who will be living on campus during the summer should return the resident (yellow) permit to Parking Services and purchase a valid permit for the summer at the current available pricing. Summer resident permits are not valid in reserved, restricted, or metered (AMP) stalls and are restricted to the following resident lots:
LOTS: 2R, 4R, 8, 9R, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22
Motorcycle Permits
The annual cycle permit costs $60.00 and is required for all motorcycles, mopeds and scooters. If you purchase a vehicle parking permit, the cycle permit will be $5.00. Parking in designated areas marked for cycles only; parking in auto stalls is prohibited.
Refunds
If you leave the University and have a long-term annual permit and want to cancel that permit, you must complete the Request for Refund and submit to Parking Services. A prorated refund will be processed within 1 week from the date the refund form is submitted.
Permits are refunded on a quarterly prorated schedule. This schedule begins on September 1st each year and after the 3rd quarter there are no refunds issued.
Full year permits: Commuter (North and South), Reserved Lots 12, 13, and 14 have a four-quarter prorated schedule.
School year permit: Resident Lots 2R, 3, 4R, 8, 9, 9R, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, and accessible have a three-quarter prorated schedule. Resident permits are valid for only three quarters which means as of March 1st they are not eligible for refunds.
FOR STUDENTS: If you purchased a permit by Bill Account and do not notify Parking Services, you will be responsible for the total permit fee. The refund will be based off the date Parking Services has received the refund request form. Once the refund request has been submitted, a prorated refund will be processed within 1 week from the date the form is received.
A student who purchases an on-campus yellow resident permit, is responsible to notify Parking Services and complete the refund form if they have moved off campus. On-campus yellow resident permits will be "revoked" and not valid to park on campus when you no longer live in a resident hall. You are eligible to exchange the resident permit for a commuter permit, however commuter permits do not allow for overnight parking.
Proration Schedule
Permits are sold and refunded on a quarterly proration schedule.
FIRST QUARTER: September 1 to November 30
SECOND QUARTER: December 1 to February 28
THIRD QUARTER: March 1 to May 31
FOURTH QUARTER: June 1 to August 31
