What is SilverCloud?
SilverCloud is a confidential, self-guided mental health resource that delivers secure and immediate online therapeutic exercises. The interventions are available 24 hours a day and offer information and support for people experiencing mental health challenges like anxiety, depression, stress and sleep. It is free to all students, staff and faculty in the UW System. If you are in need of immediate crisis support, please contact one of these resources.
How do I get started?
Users can access the platform by clicking the link above. The SilverCloud app is also available for Android and Apple devices. After completing a two minute wellbeing quiz, users select from the recommended modules which can be completed at their own pace. Each module contains text, video and audio clips as well as interactive and engaging activities, applications and quizzes that can be completed as the user moves through the module. Check out this video to learn more.
Does it require a referral from a mental health or medical provider?
No, a referral from a mental health or medical provider is not required. SilverCloud does not replace in-person treatment but can be an effective tool to improve resilience, reduce symptoms, and learn new skills.
How much time will it take?
Users can complete the program at their own pace but it is recommended to complete one module per week. The more time and effort one puts in to the program, the more one will get out of it.
