What is this training? In this training, you will learn about healthy relationships and tools to help you recognize, avoid, and address inappropriate behavior. You will also learn about behaviors that violate university rules, state law, and federal law, as well as reporting options so that you can quickly seek help from staff, law enforcement, and/or the community if you or someone you know is a victim of a crime. Student feedback has shown 87% of undergraduates had a fuller understanding of what a healthy relationship looks like after completing the course, and 95% of graduate students stated that the course prepared them to respond to intimate partner violence and sexual assault. This student training is in addition to the student employee sexual assault prevention training required by UW  System.

Why do I need to complete this? All UW-Whitewater students are required to complete the assigned training every year. Furthermore, every UW-Whitewater student has a responsibility to do their part in creating a safe and respectful campus community. Your participation in this training is very important to help foster a supportive and inclusive campus culture. This training is designed to prepare students to confront and prevent serious campus problems. We hope this is not all new information, as it's always helpful to remind ourselves of the ways we can promote a respectful and safe campus community.  

What if I don't complete the training? If you are a first year student, an academic hold will be placed on your account, preventing you from registering from classes. If you are a continuing student, your name will be provided to the UW-W Title IX Coordinator for follow-up. Per Chapter UWS 17.09(9), students who refuse to comply regarding a university matter may be subject to university sanctions.

Who is exempt from the training? If you have experienced past sexual trauma which interferes with your ability to complete the training, please email titleix@uww.edu to request an exemption.
