BUSINESS ANALYTICS

Bachelor’s Degree Programs

Our modern world is awash in data and information. Businesses, nonprofits and government organizations are hungry for skilled professionals who can understand and interpret data effectively.

As technology changes how we do business, the Information Era has created demand for new and exciting positions: Data warehouse architect. Business intelligence analyst. Machine learning scientist.

The U.S. Department of Labor reports that business data analytics and related careers will be among the fastest-growing, highest-demand in the country:

  • 36% expected increase in demand for data scientists
  • 33% for information security analysts
  • 23% for operations research analysts
  • 11% for statisticians
  • 8% market research analysts

In addition to our on-campus program, we offer the same high-quality curriculum and instruction in an online format.

Cutting-edge curriculum

UW-Whitewater was the first school in the Universities of Wisconsin to offer a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a full business analytics major.

Why major in Business Analytics at UW-Whitewater?

Highly trained. Well rounded. Ethical.
Through our multidisciplinary program, you’ll become a tech-savvy business professional with the analytical skills to help leaders make informed decisions.

You’ll take courses in information technology, economics, math and marketing. More specifically, the curriculum covers topics such as the role data plays in decision-making, processes and limitations of working with data, implementation of machine learning, interpretation and communication of findings, and use of visualization tools. Along with learning how to work with data, students examine the ethical handling of business data and decision-making.

Learning communities
Share your passion for data analysis with your peers by joining a learning community with other business majors. Live together, take courses together, and have a faculty or staff member from your area of interest lead you through your first year.

A few other reasons you should consider earning your BBA degree in business analytics/analysis at UW-Whitewater include:

  • We’re one of the few BBA programs to earn AACSB accreditation, a designation earned by only about 5% of business schools worldwide.
  • UW-Whitewater’s renowned College of Business and Economics is Wisconsin’s largest — and prepares students for a range of business challenges and career opportunities, as well as a solid understanding of what happens at every level of an organization.
  • Our Multicultural Business Program’s Summer Business Institute is a free, one-week campus event that helps business majors transition from high school to college.
  • We offer a variety of scholarships and awards for students based on need or merit.
