Women in Business Institute

Empowering women. Transforming business.

From mentorship and networking opportunities through leadership and negotiation training, UW-Whitewater’s Women in Business Institute (WIBI) is here to create a supportive and empowering environment for women and to promote greater gender equity and inclusion in the business world.

The center supports women entrepreneurs, women in finance, women in human resource management, women in business statistics, and all other women in business.

Despite progress made in recent years, women still face significant gender disparities in the workplace, including in business leadership positions.

  • In America, women earn only 82 cents on the dollar compared to their male colleagues for doing the same job.
  • Seven percent of women attempt to negotiate a job offer compared to 57 percent of men.
  • In America, only 21 percent of C-suite executives are women.

The Women in Business Institute is dedicated to closing this gap.
